We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Kitchen Assistant to join Primrose Hill. This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with food preparation, ensuring dietary needs of residents are met
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation across all kitchen areas
  • Ensure proper storage and labelling of food items in line with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the kitchen manager
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, dishwashers, and blenders
  • Support compliance with food safety, hygiene, and company procedures
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and care teams to support residents’ wellbeing
  • Contribute to a positive dining experience by respecting residents’ preferences and needs

What We’re Looking For

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting (desirable)
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards (desirable)
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and carry out manual tasks
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Food Safety Certification (desirable)
  • Basic knowledge of dietary needs for elderly residents
  • Understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
