Outdoor Living Garden Designer

Garden House Design, an award-winning landscape design and build company require a full time Designer to work with our Canopy and Outdoor Kitchen and Outdoor Styling team based at our Ferring office (BN12). or at the Glasshouse Collective in Chobham GU24 8DB.

The ideal candidate will be creative and have a can-do attitude.

The position is open to the best candidate in terms of attitude, creativity, and ambition rather than experience. This position will be working with our garden styling team, so there will be a natural crossover with our garden design and landscape businesses.

The role will be suitable for newly qualified garden designers both at graduate level and second career designers, that will have other commercial experience. We will also accept applications from enthusiastic and creative individuals who can show they will add value to our dynamic and award winning business. We may also consider applications wishing to work part time, for a minimum of three days per week.

Essential qualities.

· Enthusiastic creative and passion for the outdoors, good plant knowledge and
experience of designing outdoor spaces.

· Excellent Sketchup skills and familiar with Vectorworks or CAD.

· Good organisational and office skills, particularly Microsoft Office

· Full driving Licence

· Right to work in the UK

Preferable

· Experience working with a design and build company

· Office Administration Experience

· Buying and product sourcing experience

· Sales experience or customer facing roles

The role

The position will be for a designer, working primarily with our Outdoor styling team and working/supporting our senior design and operations team. Styling includes; planting, and outdoor living spaces. Current projects include a Premier League football club, Gastro pubs and high end domestic projects.

Responsibilities will include, but not exclusively;

· Drawing in both 2D and 3D. Designing and working closely with the senior design team. This will include technical drawings and adding amendments as required, working closely with a senior team member.

· Administering the projects, including product delivery, and client communication, both face to face, in the showroom, garden shows and over the phone

· Producing simple quotations to accompany designs.

· Coordinating deliveries with clients and our own build teams.

· Answering the phone and assisting with day-to-day office duties, booking client meetings and ensuring the showroom is ready at all times.

The Package

A competitive salary will depend on experience, (guide 24k to 28K) along with a Pension contribution and 20 days holiday with 8 days bank Holiday. Hours of work will be 8.30 until 5pm. With this position, it will be expected that out of hours meetings, and for example working at garden and trade shows, maybe required from time to time (with notice).
