Full job description
Houghton Parkhouse, an award-winning specialist in the design and manufacture of commercial livestock vehicles, is seeking a skilled Fitter, ideally with kitchen fitting, joinery, or similar experience, to join our team due to high demand for our specialist products. You will work on our production floor, assembling components using hand tools, overhead cranes, and a keen eye for detail to ensure a high-quality finish for our clients in the UK and EU markets.
Job Description:
· Assemble various components of our products, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
· Use hand tools, overhead cranes, and other equipment to move and fit parts accurately and safely.
· Follow detailed instructions or technical drawings to achieve precise assemblies and finishes.
· Check and maintain product quality, paying close attention to details that impact aesthetics and functionality.
· Liaise with production team members to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery of completed products.
· Adhere to health and safety regulations, keeping a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
· Proven fitting or assembly experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
· Kitchen fitting or joinery background strongly preferred (high level of finish and attention to detail).
· Confident using hand tools (e.g., drills, saws, sanders) and operating overhead cranes (training can be provided if needed).
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Benefits:
· Full-time, permanent position
· Monday-Friday, 8 am-4.45 pm – 40 hours per week
· Overtime available – Monday to Saturday, with weekly bonuses available
· 30 days paid holiday per year
