Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting our culinary staff to deliver excellent service. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in food service or hospitality.

THE WORKING ROTA IS 08:45 TO 17:15 MONDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AND INCLUDES ALTERNATE WEEKENDS

OWN TRANSPORT ESSENTIAL FOR THE LOCATION OF THE GARDEN CENTRE

Duties

  • Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils efficiently and thoroughly
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards
  • Organising and storing clean items appropriately for easy access by kitchen staff
  • Supporting the team during busy periods by helping with serving or clearing tables as needed
  • Adhering to all hygiene regulations and safety procedures within the kitchen environment

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
  • Experience in hospitality roles such as serving or working in a busy kitchen setting will be considered an asset
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this role
