Full job description

JOB TITLE: KITCHEN PORTER
LOCATION: OUTSKIRTS OF PADSTOW
HOURS: FULL TIME
PAY: £13.00 PER HOUR + TIPS

Duties

  • Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor
  • Supporting the organisation of storage areas, including stock rotation and inventory management
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts
  • Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy periods by helping with serving or other tasks as required
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies at all times

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is advantageous
  • Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and health & safety regulations within hospitality settings
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic attitude towards learning new skills within the culinary and hospitality sectors
