Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will have experience in catering or restaurant environments preferred. The successful applicant will be responsible for clearing after meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

DBS paid by employer, free parking, paid uniform, 28 days holiday, enhanced bank holiday pay, apprenticeship/training funding possible.

Duties

  • Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils and equipment
  • Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times
  • Help with serving food to customers or staff as required
  • Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
  • Assist with catering events or special functions as needed
  • Support the team in maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in catering, restaurant, or hospitality environments is advantageous
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends or evenings if required
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
