Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in developing their skills within a busy kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in catering, cooking, and food safety standards while contributing to the smooth operation of our establishment.

Duties

  • Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
  • Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure hygiene standards are maintained
  • Help with ingredient organisation, storage, and stock replenishment
  • Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning for cooking or serving
  • Assist in serving meals to customers or staff in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Follow all food safety procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
  • Support the team during catering events or busy service periods as required
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times

Skills

  • Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
