Full job description

We are looking for talented Cooks who are passionate and dedicated to providing fresh, high-quality meals for young children up to 5 years at our Nurseries in Leeds and Harrogate.

We have vacancies in Bardsey (LS17), Harrogate (HG3), Headingley (LS6) and West Park (LS16)

Our family-run childcare company has been delivering outstanding early years care for over 25 years.

You will be running the bright nursery kitchen and while we have a menu to follow, you can make the role your own. Bring your ideas to the table!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
  • Plan and organise menus that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure timely meal service and address any dietary concerns.
  • Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for children during meal times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a nursery or similar environment
  • Strong culinary skills with a focus on meal preparation and food safety
  • Previous kitchen experience, preferably in catering or restaurant settings
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented kitchen environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in meal planning and serving.
