Temporary role 9.00 am–3.00 pm Shared rota

We take great pride in our sandwiches, using excellent-quality produce and preparing each one with care, consistency and attention to detail. We are looking for two people to help maintain these high standards in our professional kitchen.

Please note: these are temporary positions to provide cover during a colleague’s absence.

About the role

The sandwich operation runs seven days a week and will be covered by two people. The hours may therefore be shared (exact details to be discussed), with a rota that includes alternative weekends. Applicants must be able to work flexibly within this arrangement.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and presenting excellent-quality sandwiches to a consistently high standard
Making delicate sandwiches for our traditional afternoon tea service
Preparing, portioning and organising fillings and other ingredients
Checking that ingredients are fresh, correctly stored, labelled and rotated
Following recipes, portion guidance and presentation standards
Keeping the preparation area, equipment and utensils clean and organised
Following food hygiene, allergen and kitchen safety procedures
Working closely with the chefs and wider kitchen team

The ideal candidate

You do not need to be a qualified chef. We are more interested in someone who takes pride in their work, has a good eye for detail and understands the standards expected in a professional food environment.
Some awareness or experience of working in a professional kitchen
A careful, clean and organised approach to work
The ability to prepare food neatly, efficiently and consistently
Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work as part of a team
A willingness to learn and follow instructions

Hours and contract

Hours: 9.00 am to 3.00 pm
Rota: Shared potentially between two people across seven days, including alternative weekends
Contract: Temporary

Pay: £12.71 per hour
