Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, baking, and culinary arts, with a keen eye for detail and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft exquisite pastries and desserts in a professional kitchen environment, contributing to the overall dining experience of our esteemed guests. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary creations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
  • Assist in food preparation and food production activities within the pastry section
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry station in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Ensure all baked items are presented attractively and served at optimal quality
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new pastry recipes and menu items
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times during food preparation and service
  • Support the overall operation of the kitchen by assisting other sections when required

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, baking, or as a pastry chef within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Excellent skills in cooking, food production, and culinary techniques specific to baking and pastry arts
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
