Teaching Assistant

- Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)

- Contract: Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm
Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming primary school in Rugby to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Reception and Key Stage 1 from September.
This is a varied role combining whole-class support, small group interventions, and 1:1 support for children with additional needs. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and is looking for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping young children develop both academically and socially.
The Role
- Supporting teaching and learning across Reception and Key Stage 1
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including ASD and speech and language needs
- Delivering phonics interventions and supporting early literacy and numeracy
- Using communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, visual timetables and Now & Next boards where appropriate
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
- Working closely with the class teachers, SENCO and wider support staff to implement personalised support plans
- Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent)
- At least one year's experience working in a primary school or nursery setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD and communication needs
- Good understanding of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Confident delivering phonics interventions (Little Wandle or Read Write Inc experience desirable)
- A positive, reliable and caring approach with excellent communication skills
