Key Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Technician has responsibility and accountability for support testing of products in all product sector relating to but not limited to new product development, technical service to customers and technical support to manufacturing. The sector encompasses PVC additives and PVC compounds.

Main Responsibilities

  • Typical polymeric testing of products in the laboratory to specifications
  • Assisting the compound development team with material development and production support tasks
  • Providing test results reports
  • Assisting with the control & purchasing of laboratory provisions
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the library of test specifications
  • Assisting with the management of service & calibration of test equipment
  • Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks
  • Carry out risk assessments for laboratory activities


Requirements:



Formal qualification in Science or Materials/Polymer Technology ('A' level equivalent or higher)

Self-motivated, a team-plater and enthusiastic

Well organised

Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.

Strong IT knowledge and familiar with Microsoft office programms.

Knowledge of ISO9000 Quality System would be advantageous
