Founded in 1982 One Optical provides a full range of Glazing and Surfacing requirements to independent high Street Opticians throughout the U.K and Ireland.

Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Optical Lab Technician in our state-of-the-art Glazing Lab where we use world leading technology. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, utilizing your technical skills to produce precise optical lenses and frames. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction through meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Duties

  • Manufacture and assemble prescription lenses according to detailed prescriptions provided.
  • Use specialized equipment to cut, grind, polish, and finish lenses with precision and care
  • Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab workspace to ensure optimal production flow
  • Assist with lens inventory management and proper storage of materials and tools
  • Follow safety protocols diligently while operating machinery and handling optical materials

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in an optical lab is essential
  • Experience Operating Glazing machinery
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to operate optical equipment safely and efficiently
  • Good manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination for fitting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving technology in optical manufacturing
