Full job description

Excellent opportunity for a QA Supervisor to join our Technical team. Responsible for assuring the safety and quality of all products produced, through effective implementation of company quality assurance policies, product specifications, and effective day-to-day operation of the quality assurance function.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday with working hours 21:00-05:00

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • To ensure Company’s food safety and quality objectives are met at all times.
  • To manage the work of the QA Team and ensure they are suitably trained to carry out their tasks.
  • To ensure that all products and raw materials can be traced throughout the production process.
  • To ensure that all the required control documents are in place for new products launches and to be in attendance at trial, pre-production runs and production runs.
  • To conduct a weekly Hygiene and Food Safety Audit with the Hygiene Manager and Engineering Manager and report actions required to senior management. Action points raised must be monitored for completion.
  • To conduct internal quality system audits .
  • To attend customer and third party audits.
  • To investigate complaints and report findings.
  • To manage the daily safety and quality of products and report any defects to the production management for improvement.
  • Liaise with the technical department when changes are required in controlled documents.
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with the company’s quality manual policies and procedures.
  • To carry out Food Hygiene Awareness training for all employees.
  • To collate samples to be sent for micro testing and monitor product shelf life and quality of all products.
  • To support an initial HACCP study for new products and liaise with the HACCP team for its accuracy. To ensure that all CCP and QCP points are monitored and reported.
  • To organise and collate information from product taste trials as requested.
  • To collate all shift paperwork and check for completion, report to relevant department manager of any non-conformances and monitor actions.
  • Design and develop product manuals to aid production processes
  • Plan and manage internal and external communication and awareness of corporate direction, aims and activities
  • To assist with the production, communication and implementation of career development structures and competencies within the department
  • Responsible for ensuring that activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality, health and safety, legal compliance, policies and procedures and general duty of care and corporate responsibility.
