Full job description

Adaptavate is a business of the future, a dynamic team of engineers, thinkers, parents, walkers, traders, dreamers, climbers, scientists, gardeners, friends, family, and visionaries. People who think differently to make a big impact through our work… together.

We are answering the urgent call to decarbonise construction globally, by developing the low carbon and carbon-negative technologies and products needed, and the industrial ecosystem to deploy them fast, anywhere in the world.

To succeed in our mission, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to support the development of next-generation building materials through hands-on laboratory work, including sample preparation, formulation trials, and product testing. Working closely with scientists, chemists and engineers, the role will involve operating laboratory equipment, recording results, and contributing to the continuous improvement and scaleup of new products.

Our Laboratory Technician will

  • Assisting in the development of the next generation of carbon negative building materials
  • Carrying out formulation development
  • Conducting product testing and data collection
  • Maintaining high standards of laboratory organisation and cleanliness
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Managing stock levels of laboratory consumables and product materials

You will

  • Want to be part of a curious, goal oriented and purpose driven team
  • Be meticulous with detail and data accuracy
  • Have a can-do attitude and be self-motivated
  • Pride yourself in being autonomous and organised
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Excel
  • Be a competent IT user

What do you get in return?

As our next Adaptavator, you will build on your existing strengths through a blend of mentorship, hands-on development, and collaboration with the development and production teams. You will have the opportunity to work on genuinely groundbreaking technology with the potential to transform the construction industry.

We are a supportive and ambitious team with bold ideas, strong beliefs, and a shared drive to create meaningful change. For those who are curious, proactive and willing to push themselves, there is real opportunity to grow alongside the business as we continue to lead carbon change in construction.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger and our days more rewarding. As an equal opportunity employer, we stay true to our principles by ensuring that our place can be anyone’s place.

If this sounds like your next job, then please send your CV with a covering letter or email as to why you want the position to jobs@adaptavate.com.

At Adaptavate, we are fighting climate change with carbon change, and we firmly believe that our work is pivotal to achieve net zero by 2050. The endeavour is ambitious, but we are up for the challenge! Are you?

We look forward to hearing from you.
