JOB DESCRIPTION

Shift Analytical Process Technician

Job Purpose

Carry out laboratory analysis to a defined analytical schedule with an active part in the running of the plant with sampling duties. The role is shift-based, working a 5 shift pattern (2 day, 2 night, 10 Off)

Reporting to the Shift Manager the role offers a very competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competent control & operation of the laboratory equipment which includes: HPLC, GC, Density, Moisture Balance and wet chemistry. All of which require adherence to company procedures and job methods.
  • Work with the Shift team to achieve the required standard of SHE performance on the Ensus Site to maintain all legal operational permits. On a day to day basis ensure releases to air, land or drain are prevented, minimised and controlled to prevent consent levels being breached and EA reportable incidents.
  • Ensure we are HMRC compliant at all times through control and management of the HMRC sampling and storage procedures.
  • Ensure we are FEMAS compliant at all times in terms of both feed and finished product quality according to our FEMAS accreditation.
  • Working with the Lead Tech to carry out the short term & instantaneous operational tasks needed to achieve the production Plan for the plant - This includes controlling plant parameters/unit rates to meet the plan as set out by the Shift Manager.
  • Ensure plant progress & team issues are communicated to the Lead tech or Shift Manager in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with complete and thorough communication between shifts - This includes effective communication via the logs and the shift handover system to ensure a smooth transition and common goal across the shift teams.
  • Recommend and provide input to any changes to be implemented on the plant in order to improve the plant performance and supporting business processes.
