The post holder will be placed within the Work-Based Education Team. Under the guidance of the Career and Professional Development Lead, the post holder will work in partnership with Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson and Colne college and 6 th Form schools to facilitate work shadowing and work experience projects. The Work Experience Co-ordinator will support the Work-Based Education Team in team activities. Supporting the T-Level program coordinator in the supervision of learners and further development of the T-Level program

The post holder will work within our Work Based Education Team, coordinating work experience placements within all suitable departments within the trust. Working closely with local schools and colleges to support these programs. The post holder will also work closely with our T-level coordinator to offer pastoral support and guidance to learners on placements

To work under the guidance of the and Career and Professional Development Lead in partnership with colleges and 6 th Forms to assist in developing, monitoring and evaluating work experience placements and bespoke work experience projects.

To develop and maintain working partnerships with college work placement leads and industry links, sharing ideas and experiences by planning and delivering presentations regarding work experience.
To work closely with college and 6 th Form work experience links to seek out, organise and facilitate bespoke work experience projects. These work experience projects may not slot into a particular time frame and will require close monitoring and follow up.

Liaise with colleges to ensure best match of student to appropriate placement area, this will include working closely with college work placement leads, monitoring application forms, partake in student interviews, liaising with parents.
On a regular basis the post holder will be expected to work within college environment, this may involve working outside normal office working hours of 8am – 5pm.
The post holder will be required to develop a good awareness of student curriculum and how these link to career pathways within ELHT
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating all suitable work experience requests including future programs and related projects
Work closely with the T-Level coordinator, providing support, by undertaking learner visits and pastoral support and documenting interactions
Co-ordination and delivery of specific training to prepare learners for placement, this will include safer handling and basic life support.
Support the Mid and endpoint assessment process run by the colleges

To ensure all students are best prepared for placements, t his will include developing and facilitating the delivery of training programmes, eg, workshops, group work, classroom sessions and practical activities.
To work closely with placement supervisors to help prepare for learners, this could include helping to plan a variety learning activities.
To provide support and guidance to learners and their placement supervisors.
Ensure quality learning opportunities are available, this will include organising and delivering taught sessions and presentations both within ELHT and colleges.
To evaluate all taught sessions and activities.
The post holder will be a point of contact for work experience students whilst on placement and will visit and monitor students, in the work area, on a regular basis.

To organise and facilitate feedback sessions at the end of placement to explore what learning has occurred during placement and be able to offer advice and guidance around next steps regarding career choices and pathways.

  • Ensure students are made aware of potential job opportunities and career pathways within ELHT.
  • The post holder will be responsible for making sure any problems or issues are dealt with appropriately and to feedback any issues to line manager in a timely manner
