Full job description

Location: Lancashire Area (Blackburn with Darwen, Preston Burnley, Chorley, Hyndburn, Pendle, South Ribble, Ribble Valley)

Salary: £13,260.00 PA

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

Working hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Reporting To: Housing Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Housing Support Officer (Peripatetic) to deliver high-quality, person-centred support to vulnerable adults across a range of locations. This is a flexible role involving travel between services, supporting tenants to maintain safe and sustainable tenancies while promoting independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Tenant Support & Engagement

· Deliver tailored support to tenants with complex needs

· Develop and review support plans and risk assessments

· Support independent living skills such as budgeting and self-care

· Enable access to specialist services and community opportunities

· Build professional and trusting relationships

Housing & Tenancy Management

· Manage a flexible caseload across multiple sites

· Support rent payments, budgeting, and tenancy obligations

· Address anti-social behaviour and tenancy issues

· Conduct property inspections

· Prevent tenancy breakdown and eviction

Safeguarding & Risk Management

· Respond to safeguarding concerns

· Complete risk assessments

· Maintain accurate confidential records

· Follow health and safety procedures

Multi-Agency Working

· Work with local authorities and partner agencies

· Attend meetings and advocate for tenants

Compliance & Service Delivery

· Travel between sites to meet service needs

· Complete health & safety checks

· Coordinate with contractors

· Maintain documentation and records

· Adapt to changing priorities

About You

· Experience working with vulnerable adults or similar settings

· Knowledge of housing or tenancy sustainment

· Understanding of safeguarding and risk management

· Strong communication skills

· Ability to manage workload effectively

· IT and record-keeping skills

· Compassionate and person-centred

· Flexible and adaptable

· Willingness to travel

Additional Requirements

· Driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes

· Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check required

· Flexible to meet service needs

· Available to take on extra hours
