Ready for more than just another landscaping job?
You spend a big part of your life at work. It should be somewhere you’re proud to be.
If you’re an experienced landscaper who takes pride in doing things properly, enjoys leading others and wants the opportunity to progress, ALS Landscaping could be the right next step for you.
We deliver everything from fencing, paving and smaller landscaping works through to complete high-end garden transformations.
Whatever the size of the project, our approach remains the same: excellent workmanship, professional service and attention to detail.
We’re growing and are looking for an experienced Landscaping Team Leader to take responsibility for one of our installation teams and help us continue raising the standard.
Why join ALS Landscaping?
Maybe you’re currently self-employed and tired of chasing work, payments and paperwork.
Perhaps you’re working somewhere where your experience isn’t recognised, or you’ve reached a point where there’s nowhere meaningful to progress.
Or maybe you simply want to work for a landscaping company that is organised, ambitious and takes the same level of pride in its work that you do.
At ALS, we want to give good people the opportunity to build a long-term career.
You’ll be trusted with responsibility, supported by the wider business and given the opportunity to develop your leadership and landscaping skills as the company continues to grow.
About the role
As a Landscaping Team Leader, you’ll take responsibility for the day to day running of your projects and lead a small installation team.
This is a hands-on position. We’re looking for somebody who can lead from the front, maintain high standards and make sure projects are delivered safely, professionally and in line with the agreed design and specification.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating a small landscaping team
- Delivering projects in accordance with plans, specifications and agreed standards
- Planning and organising the day-to-day running of the site
- Working alongside your team and maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Liaising professionally with clients, designers and our office team
- Managing materials, tools and equipment on site
- Keeping sites organised, tidy and professional
- Monitoring progress and communicating any issues early
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
- Supporting and developing less experienced members of the team
- Taking ownership of the project from site setup through to completion and handover
Who we're looking for
We’re looking for somebody who genuinely cares about the quality of their work.
You should:
✅ Have at least 3 years' practical hard landscaping experience
✅ Have strong experience in areas such as paving, fencing, decking, groundworks and general landscape construction
✅ Be confident leading a small team, or be an experienced landscaper ready to take the next step into leadership
✅ Have high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
✅ Be able to read plans, understand specifications and work accurately to a design
✅ Be organised and able to plan work effectively
✅ Be comfortable communicating professionally with clients and colleagues
✅ Take ownership when something needs sorting rather than waiting for somebody else to do it
✅ Understand the importance of health and safety on site
✅ Hold a full UK driving licence
Most importantly, we're looking for somebody who takes pride in what they build and how they represent the company.
This role probably isn't for you if...
❌ You're simply looking to turn up, get your hours in and go home
❌ "That'll do" is good enough for you
❌ You regularly cut corners to get a job finished
❌ You don't want responsibility for a team or project
❌ You don't care how the site is left or what impression we give the client
We're not expecting perfection. We are looking for pride, accountability, professionalism and a willingness to keep improving.
What you'll get in return
We believe people who take responsibility and consistently deliver high standards should be rewarded.
You'll receive:
- £35,000–£45,000 salary, depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus
- Use of Company van and fuel card
- Uniform and tools provided
- Private healthcare after successful completion of probation
- Pension scheme
- Ongoing training and development
- Hands-on support and mentorship
- Genuine opportunities to progress as the business grows
- A professional and supportive working environment where your contribution matters
Where you'll work
Our projects are predominantly located within approximately one hour of Lincoln, allowing you to work on varied landscaping projects while generally being home each evening.
You'll work across a mixture of landscaping projects, from smaller installations through to substantial garden transformations.
About ALS Landscaping
Our ambition is simple:
To set the standard for landscaping in our region through exceptional client service, skilled teams and outstanding workmanship.
We believe in:
Pride – taking responsibility for the quality of what we build.
Professionalism – doing things properly and representing the company well.
Trust and respect – looking after our clients, colleagues, equipment and sites.
Teamwork – working together rather than working around each other.
Development – helping good people become even better.
Client service – remembering that a great project isn't just about what we build, but the experience we provide while building it.
Ready for your next step?
If you're an experienced landscaper who's ready to take more responsibility, develop as a leader and be part of an ambitious landscaping company, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply with your CV and tell us a little about your landscaping experience and the types of projects you've worked on.
