Location: North West
Salary: £45,000 per annum + Company Vehicle
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

We're recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing contractor specialising in landscape construction and enabling works.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, managing site teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

Our client works on a variety of commercial projects, and they're looking for a practical, commercially aware Contracts Manager who can oversee multiple sites, build strong client relationships and ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

It's a varied role offering plenty of autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple landscape construction and enabling works projects from initial planning through to completion.
  • Oversee site teams, supervisors and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered to programme and specification.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and equipment across multiple sites.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs and profitability, identifying potential commercial risks.
  • Liaise with clients, main contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend site meetings, monitor progress and ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Manage variations, additional works and changes to project requirements.
  • Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, workmanship and site presentation.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure successful project delivery.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in landscape construction.

You'll need to be confident managing multiple projects, coordinating site teams and dealing directly with clients and main contractors.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar operational management role.
  • A background in commercial landscaping, groundworks or enabling works.
  • Experience managing multiple construction sites and subcontractors.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost control and contract profitability.
  • Good knowledge of construction programmes, site operations and health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with clients and site teams.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to make decisions.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experience working alongside principal contractors on commercial developments would be particularly advantageous.

What's on Offer?

  • £45,000 annual salary
  • Company vehicle
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • A varied portfolio of commercial construction projects
  • Genuine autonomy and responsibility
  • Opportunity to join a growing, established contractor
  • Supportive team and long-term career prospects
