Job Overview

As a Gardener, you’ll care for outdoor spaces through practical gardening, groundskeeping and landscape maintenance. You’ll help keep plants healthy and grounds tidy, adapting your work to the needs of each area and the seasons.

In particular we focus on wildlife-friendly gardening so a good knowledge of wildlife, nature, ecology, conservation, etc... is required.

Reliability is key. No flakers allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lawns, beds, borders and planted areas, clearing weeds and removing debris.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately for gardening and maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor irrigation, water plants as needed and report issues affecting plant health.
  • Support planting and ongoing care, applying growing knowledge to maintain attractive, healthy spaces.
  • Your impact: Consistent care helps visitors enjoy well-kept grounds and gives colleagues clear, orderly outdoor areas to maintain.

Skills

Required: Practical gardening capabilities, including using hand tools, carrying out landscape maintenance and groundskeeping, and following safe working practices with power tools and irrigation equipment. You should be able to care for plants and keep outdoor areas tidy. Preferred: Growing experience and knowledge of horticulture can help you recognise plant needs, support healthy growth and contribute confidently to varied gardening tasks.

TOOLS and TRANSPORT

The more you have, the more we pay. Any applicants must list not only skills and experience but tools and transport details.

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 35.0 per week
