Full job description

Root One East Ltd deliver a variety of soft and hard landscaping services across three sectors, namely, commercial, social and residential. Due to the growth in our business we have an exciting opportunity and we require to recruit an experienced professional to support our business needs.

Root One East ltd is looking for a reliable, motivated, and experienced Contracts Manager. Experience in managing people, communicating with clients and suppliers and competent in excel spreadsheets are all highly desirable.

This is a year-round permanent position.

Rates of pay will vary depending on experience and qualifications.

This is an office based position generally but you will be required to visit various locations on a weekly basis so a driving license is essential..

You will have a pivotal role in scheduling of works, managing operatives and building professional relationships with clients, as well as pricing and business development.

Job Description:

  • Managing all aspects of project delivery on and off-site
  • Leading or supporting the successful delivery of projects
  • Adaptable and good problem solver
  • Managing operational staff and delegating/prioritising tasks to meet project deadlines
  • Completing tender pricing for potential project opportunities
  • Providing cost management support to the Managing Director
  • Providing cost advice and preparing monthly valuations to our clients
  • Negotiating, corresponding and developing strong relationships with our clients
  • Representing the company in a professional manner
  • Carrying out regular inspections
  • Ensuring all site operatives adhere to all our health and safety protocols

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experienced manager, gained within soft and hard landscaping projects with min 5 year’s experience
  • Good communication skills, ensuring deadlines are met for the successful completion of projects.
  • Good technical writing and client-facing communication skills
  • Competent in excel spreadsheets
  • Reliable, well-organised, motivated, proactive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A solid and practical understanding of the importance of health and safety at work.

Preferred Experience and Qualification

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Relevant horticulture / landscaping qualification
  • Basic autocad knowledge

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday (45 hours per week basic)
  • Weekends, normally 1 in 3

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving licence (required)
  • CSCS Card (required)
