As a garden maintenance and aftercare technician you will be an invaluable member of the team working alongside like minded people, passionate about the care and development of our clients gardens. Your role will involve a wide scope of work from helping to maintain lawns, hedges, irrigation systems, terraces and pathways, whilst caring and tendering to the borders, meadows and orchards, finding the best form for pruning shrubs and tying in and training the climbers. You will also be involved in the development of our gardens, adding planting to or creating new borders and features, planting perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees, staking and anchoring, wiring and training, pruning and shaping. Requirements
- You must be a highly motivated individual with an excellent, can-do attitude to your work.
- Excellent time keeping and organisational skills.
- UK Driving License
- Level 2 or higher in Horticulture.
- 4+ years’ experience in similar role.
- Plant knowledge.
- Ideally hold a PA1/ PA6 spraying licence.
- You must be able to carry out all garden-based tasks to the highest standard day in day out, all year round.
- Be able to keep to work schedules provided by the Maintenance & Aftercare Manager.
- Good communication skills across team members, external trades, clients and designers
- Able to maintain a safe and clean working environment as per company policies and safety procedures on site.
- Maintain in good and safe working order all tools, vehicles, plant, equipment and machinery on site.
Desirable
- Knowledge of pests and diseases.
- Ability to focus on completing projects when challenges arise.
- Knowledge of tools and machinery used in construction of gardens.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- Competency in using garden machinery ideally holding relevant machinery tickets, certifications and the like.
- Knowledge of installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
