Full job description
Site Electrician/Multiskilled Engineer
Location: Mosstodloch
Contract: Full time, permanent
About the role:
We are looking to appoint a Site Electrician, to provide front line industrial electrical engineering support to the manufacturing operations ensuring the plant runs effectively and efficiently.
You should be time served or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline, with previous experience within an industrial production environment. You must have the ability to communicate in English as well as comprehend written instructions. A driving licence is essential.
The hours of work are Monday – Friday, 07.00 to16.30 and on a rota for some Saturdays, 07.00 to 10.00.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance inspections
- Overhauling equipment
- Monitoring plant conditions
- Coordinate all planned maintenance works to minimise disruption
- Reporting defects
- Diagnosing and repairing faults as they occur
- When required, actively support the engineering team carrying out multi-skill tasks
Skills and Experience:
- A team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility/ownership and a positive “can do” attitude
- Can work effectively within a factory environment and perform under pressure
- Improvising ability under breakdown conditions
- Adhere to health & safety, quality and engineering procedures
- Ability to use electrical test equipment
- Ability to read schematic diagrams
- Experience in single and 3-phase installations including motors and inverters is highly desirable
- Experience with PLC systems would be advantageous.
