So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance operative based in St Helens to work on various Your Housing Group sites across the North West region.

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, working as part of a small and supportive team, you will use your previous experience to deliver grounds maintenance, landscaping and environmental services to Your Housing Group’s customers, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and customer care at all times.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced grounds maintenance operative who can carry out a high standard of work.

What will my working week look like?

Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. Starting and finishing work in St Helens.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be able to:

  • Carry out grass cutting, shrub pruning, weed control and various landscaping ad hoc works.
  • Be a strong team player with solid communication skills.
  • Be trained and competent to use and maintain a range of associated powered landscaping tool and equipment.
  • Be able to demonstrate using your initiative.
  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence.

In addition to the above you will embrace the culture of continuous improvement to support Value for Money throughout the organisation and have a passion for doing things right first time.

That all sounds great, what’s in it for me?

In return we offer £27,976 for a 40-hour week, and 23 days annual leave (holidays continue to increase with time served) plus 3 discretionary days between Christmas & New Year, plus Bank Holidays, but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance.

On top of this, we’ll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through Medicash, that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments), an option to buy up to one weeks further holiday, an annual volunteering day, and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half price cinema tickets, subsidised gym memberships and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.
