Full job description

Lilleshall Hall Golf Club is seeking a motivated and reliable Greenkeeper to join our team on this classic Harry Colt parkland course, set in 165 acres of mature woodland.

This is a varied role that combines traditional greenkeeping with modern technology. We make significant use of robotic and autonomous mowing systems, and full training will be provided on all our robotic equipment. The course is heavily wooded, so strong practical tree management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor robotic and autonomous mowers (full training given)
  • Support the integration of robotic systems alongside traditional greenkeeping practices
  • Carry out tree management and woodland maintenance, including pruning, formative work, managing tree health, and assisting with larger arboricultural tasks (chainsaw use required)
  • Daily course presentation – mowing, bunker work, aeration, top-dressing, spraying, scarifying and general set-up
  • Operate and help maintain a range of conventional and robotic machinery

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in greenkeeping or sports turf maintenance
  • Practical arboricultural skills and confidence working with trees (chainsaw certificate – CS30/CS31 or equivalent – highly desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to learn and work with robotic/autonomous equipment (training provided)
  • Good understanding of health & safety, particularly around machinery and tree work
  • Ability to work early mornings and weekends on a rota basis

Desirable

  • Level 2 (or higher) qualification in Sports Turf / Greenkeeping
  • PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates
  • Previous experience on a wooded or parkland course
  • Mechanical interest or basic machinery maintenance skills
