Overview
We are seeking a qualified Head Gardener to join our team in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of our clients gardens and outdoor spaces. This is a hands on role for someone who has a keen eye for detail and pride in their work. The successful applicant will manage a regular maintenance schedule along with ad hoc customers, with a small FT team.
Candidates must:
- Be physically fit and able to undertake all garden related duties and be prepared to work all year round
- Have demonstrated horticultural ability, good plant identification skills and a genuine passion for the work
- Be willing to work alongside us to ensure the highest horticultural standards are maintained
- Have good communication skills and high levels of customer service
- Be reliable and trustworthy to represent our company
- A strong competency in the use of landscaping/garden machinery
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of health and safety practices and legislation
- Ideally a minimum of RHS Level 2 or similar is required and 3 years full time year-round practical experience
- Experience in management
- Hold a full UK drivers license and have use of your own vehicle
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop a range of domestic and commercial gardens to a high standard
- Use and maintain variety of power tools and hand tools to cultivate and maintain gardens
- Perform maintenance tasks such as pruning, weeding, and mulching
- Monitor plant health and growth, ensuring optimal conditions for growth
- Undertake groundskeeping duties to maintain the overall appearance of the garden
- Develop good relationships with the clients, providing advice and consultation where appropriate (skill dependant)
We are offering a starting salary, based on ability and experience, of £32,000 to £36,000 per year, and are happy to discuss the implementation of a performance-based bonus scheme after a successful probationary period.
