Full job description

Maintenance & Grounds Person

Ribblesdale Park | Full-Time

We are looking for a friendly, practical and hardworking Maintenance & Grounds Person to join our team at Ribblesdale Park, looking after our holiday lodges, cottages, restaurant and surrounding grounds.

This is a varied, hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys doing lots of different things, likes solving problems and takes pride in keeping a property looking and working at its best.

Just as importantly, we are looking for a people person. Our maintenance team regularly comes into contact with guests, lodge owners and other members of staff, so you should be friendly, approachable and happy to help.

The Role

No two days are likely to be exactly the same. Duties will include:

  • General maintenance and repairs across our lodges, cottages, restaurant and other buildings
  • Basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and handyman jobs
  • Identifying problems and either fixing them or helping organise the appropriate contractor
  • Grounds and outdoor maintenance
  • Helping prepare lodges and cottages for guests
  • Responding to maintenance issues during guests' stays
  • Working alongside our housekeeping, guest services and wider park team
  • Helping with deliveries, moving furniture, setting up areas and other practical jobs around the estate
  • Keeping maintenance areas, tools and equipment organised
  • Generally being willing to pitch in wherever needed

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly and good with people
  • Practical and confident using tools
  • A good problem solver who can use their own initiative
  • Reliable, organised and hardworking
  • Flexible and happy to take on a wide variety of jobs
  • Someone who notices when something needs doing rather than always waiting to be asked
  • Proud of their work and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Professional and courteous around guests and lodge owners
  • Experienced in general property maintenance, construction, joinery, plumbing or a similar practical trade — although being the right kind of person is just as important to us as having every particular skill

Hours

This is a full-time position.

Because we are a hospitality and holiday business, the role will include working one weekend day each week, with the remaining working days arranged during the week.

What We're Looking For

Above all, we want someone with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys variety, enjoys being around people and is genuinely happy to get stuck in.

If you're the sort of person who can fix a leaking tap in the morning, help a guest with a problem, sort out something in a lodge, tackle an outdoor job in the afternoon and still enjoy the variety of the day, we'd love to hear from you.

Salary to be discussed based on experience.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
