Platform Property Care has an exciting opportunity for a Quality & Defects Manager to join our Grounds Maintenance team as our Subject Matter Expert for all of Platform Housing new build sites landscaping under development.

What could you be doing?

In this key role you will be responsible for ensuring landscaping works on new developments are delivered on time, to high standards and contract specification whilst being the main point of contact for all stakeholders.

You’ll have a real input into new development scheme design and maintenance regime being involved with the pre-planning and pre-site review. Working with our Development Land team you will lead on all Grounds throughout the build process, managing the defects until sites are complete and then handed over to the Grounds Maintenance Delivery Managers and their teams to manage and maintain on a day to day.

Some things we need from you:

  • Proven knowledge and demonstrable experience of delivering horticulture and landscape maintenance techniques and industry best practice including tree and hedge conservation
  • Experience of working day to day with external stakeholders with excellent relationship building and maintenance skills
  • Used to working with site plans and planting diagrams with a key eye for detail
  • Experience in monitoring, measuring, and managing performance and addressing under-performance and of delivering works on time
  • It would be desirable if you have a C & G/ National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Horticulture, and if you were an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture and working towards Corporate Membership
  • Management and H & S Management qualifications would also be desirable but not essential

We’d also like you to be:

  • Highly organised and professional in approach
  • Used to balancing a heavy workload and prioritising as necessary
  • Customer Focussed
  • Strong IT Skills with use of MS Office, 365 and GIS
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills

This is a mobile role with a van and fuel card provided so a driving licence is essential. The area covered by this role is group wide and covers the central areas - Birmingham/ the West Midlands/ Leicestershire/ Lincolnshire/ Derbyshire/ Worcestershire & Herefordshire so you would need to live in these areas. We have group offices in Solihull and Worcester. You will need to travel extensively across all of Platform Housing Group’s new development portfolio, and on occasion respond to meetings outside of work hours.
