Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Caseworker to join our dynamic legal team (Solicitor's firm). In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting case management, legal research, and client communication efforts. Your proactive approach and organisational skills will help ensure smooth case progression and compliance with legal procedures. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while making a meaningful impact through assisting clients and attorneys alike.

Responsibilities

  • Assist solicitors by preparing legal documents, correspondence, and case files with precision and timeliness
  • Ability to make applications under solicitors' supervision
  • Ability to work as caseworker and dealing with clients
  • Conduct thorough research using legal databases, public records, and other resources to support case development
  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and appointments efficiently using Microsoft Outlook and other organizational tools
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and external agencies via phone, email, or in-person meetings in clear English
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files to ensure easy retrieval and compliance with confidentiality standards
  • Support the preparation of court filings, reports, and summaries using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Coordinate meetings, schedule appointments, and track case progress to meet all deadlines promptly

Qualifications:

LLB/LLM/LPC preferable

Experience

  • Proven experience as a paralegal or caseworker in a law firm, legal or social services environment is preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with IT systems for data management
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and effective time management abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy
  • Demonstrated understanding of legal terminology, procedures, or social service protocols is advantageous
  • Farsi/Dari/Turkish/Kurdish bilinguals are preferred
  • Experience in Immigration/Family/Litigation/Property preferred
