The role is for a specialist conveyancing law department, that has grown for the past 18 months and now consists of 6 members of staff

As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial supporting role within the conveyancing team, assisting in managing the entire conveyancing process. You will work closely with the Head of Conveyancing and roster of conveyancing solicitors to ensure that a high volume of transactions are processed efficiently and professionally throughout the year. Your role will involve assisting in the prioritisation of workloads, managing documentation, and supporting the general legal work within the group. This position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting Conveyancing Processes:

· Assist in managing the end-to-end conveyancing process for both purchases and onward sales.

· Ensure timely progression and completion of transactions by supporting the Head of Conveyancing and external solicitors.

· Help prioritise workloads to meet client requirements and commercial needs.

· Maintain accurate records and manage documentation throughout the conveyancing process.

Administrative and Compliance Support:

· Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.

· Support compliance procedures, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and other regulatory requirements.

· Handle routine legal inquiries and provide support in managing in-house complaints.

Team Collaboration:

· Work collaboratively with the Head of Conveyancing and other team members to streamline processes.

· Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices.

· Support the recruitment, management, and training of new team members as required.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

· Communicate effectively with clients, external solicitors, and third-party suppliers.

· Provide regular updates on transaction status to clients and internal stakeholders.

· Address and resolve any client concerns or queries in a timely and professional manner.

Risk Management and Legal Support:

· Assist in the identification and mitigation of legal risks associated with property transactions.

· Collaborate with the Valuation team to ensure legal issues are taken into account in property valuations.

· Liaise with the Buying team to advise them of the potential commercial implications of purchasing specific properties.

· Support the Buying team by providing information on the commercial implications of property purchases.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a para legal or conveyancing support role.

· Strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· High attention to detail and accuracy in managing legal documents.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements, including AML regulations.

· Proficiency in using legal software and technological solutions for transaction management.
