We're looking for a commercially astute Legal Counsel to join our team supporting Mitie's growing Power & Grid division. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and high-value projects that support critical infrastructure across the UK, partnering closely with operational, commercial and leadership teams to provide pragmatic legal advice and help drive business success.

Role Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and project agreements
  • Advising on construction, engineering and infrastructure projects, including NEC contracts
  • Providing clear, risk-based legal advice on operational, procurement and commercial matters
  • Supporting stakeholders with compliance, governance and contractual risk management
  • Developing legal processes, contract templates and governance frameworks to drive continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) & relevant experience gained in private practice or an in-house environment
  • Strong experience in construction, engineering or projects law, ideally within the Power, Energy or Utilities sector
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery frameworks
  • Excellent commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • The ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and confidently to non-legal stakeholders
  • A collaborative and proactive approach with the confidence to influence and challenge when required
