The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Professional at Kingston College is looking for an enthusiastic proactive lecturer to teach BTEC Applied Science level 2 & 3 programmes with specialism of Chemistry and Physics and possible opportunities to contribute to other programmes within the school.
A key focus is in helping the Head of Section & Team Leader, together with other members of the course teams to ensure that students meet and exceed their target grades by providing a high quality student experience and outstanding outcomes. The role encompasses working on teaching schemes, assessment schedules (including coursework and externally set assessments) and general student progress monitoring.
As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have excellent teaching skills with experience of delivering BTEC vocational programmes. You’ll have participated in recent and relevant continuous professional development with an awareness of academic quality standards.
We’d like you to have energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education and the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress. You’ll be receptive to new ideas and initiatives with a creative approach to problem solving and be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
Closing date for the return of completed applications is 17th August 2026.
Interviews will be held on 19th August 2026.
The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
