Location: Thames Valley Region

We are looking to appoint an experienced Planner to join our Infrastructure team, supporting the successful delivery of major projects across the Thames Valley Region, with a particular focus on the water sector.

This is a key role responsible for providing planning, programming, project controls and methodology expertise from prequalification and tender stage through to project completion. Working closely with bid, design, commercial and operational teams, you will develop robust, deliverable programmes that support safe, efficient and successful project delivery.

You will play an important role in shaping project strategies, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving programme certainty through effective planning processes and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Duties

  • Lead planning and programming activities for prequalification submissions, tenders and live infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and maintain integrated Primavera P6 and Asta Powerproject programmes, including resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
  • Produce construction methodologies, sequencing strategies, phasing plans and supporting planning documentation.
  • Implement and manage Short Interval Control (SIC) and 5-Week Look Ahead planning processes to support productivity and programme performance.
  • Monitor progress, undertake critical path analysis, identify risks and mitigation measures, and provide programme reporting and recovery solutions where required.

About You

You will be a highly organised and technically capable planning professional with significant experience delivering planning services within the construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or water sectors.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience developing and managing programmes on major infrastructure projects, with advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and Asta Powerproject.
  • Experience producing resource-loaded and cost-loaded programmes, programme reporting, critical path analysis and NEC-compliant planning outputs.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, resource forecasting, productivity monitoring and programme recovery.
  • Experience implementing Short Interval Control (SIC), 5-Week Look Ahead planning and Lean Planning techniques.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Membership of a professional institution such as CIOB, ICE or APM, or working towards membership, is desirable

What we can offer you

  • Competitive salary
  • Car Allowance
  • 26 days annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 3 days holiday)
  • 3 additional long service days achieved after 3, 7 and 10 years
  • Private medical insurance for yourself (with the option to buy family cover)
  • Life Assurance
  • Defined contribution pension scheme matched up to 8%
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and parental leave
  • 2 days volunteering opportunities
  • Flexible and Agile working (dependent on your role)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Professional membership fees
  • Perks at Work Employee discount scheme offering discounts on a range of categories such as electronics, home appliances, food & groceries, car buying, travel, fitness and more
  • Flexible Benefits scheme which includes the opportunity to purchase benefits such as:
    • Critical illness insurance (with option to purchase for your partner)
    • Dental Insurance
    • Travel insurance
    • Cycle to work scheme
    • Retail vouchers/payroll giving/activity pass for top leisure attractions.
