Full job description

Our client is an international life science company that develops novel medical technology and lab products.

They are looking to expand the R&D team by adding a Senior Design Engineer to work on a business critical project focusing on refrigeration systems and components design for new and existing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & develop product systems - must have design expertise
  • Follow agile methodology of product development
  • Numeric calculations to assure design performance while minimising investment into prototype and experiments
  • Create and review specifications of refrigeration systems and components for use in either prototypes and off tooling units
  • Assure specifications are feasible to source by connecting to suppliers and manufacturing
  • Provide specific documentation related to product design to meet regulatory compliance and company requirements
  • Advocate on testing by making sure product and testing quality level is appropriate
  • Feed technology roadmap pipeline by targeting new & feasible technologies
  • Assist on quality complaints from the field by providing technical support to identify root causes, short and long term alternatives and determine product risks
  • Provide support on manufacturing processes and methods to meet quality and safety standards

Education/Track Record

  • Mechanical Engineering or Design Engineering
  • We are open to people with or without Degrees
  • Candidates from similar regulated industries with expertise in refrigeration, thermodynamics and heat transfer are encouraged to apply

Skills/Knowledge

  • Design Engineering
  • Design packages and software exposure
  • Refrigeration systems/components design
  • Troubleshooting
  • DFM, FMEA and design controls (a plus)

Pay: £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
