Full job description

Join us at one of two of our nurseries in Westminster, SW1.

Get creative freedom, great benefits, and be part of a charitable social enterprise truly putting the children first.

Starting Level 3 salary of £31,394 for 40 hours/week, full time.

You're probably more familiar with the term Nursery Practitioner, but that won't be your job title at LEYF. We believe that the terms Early Years Teacher and Nursery Educator better reflect the vital role you will play in shaping our children's learning and development. We see our teams as Early Years Educators who inspire curiosity, confidence and create meaningful learning experiences every day.

But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what our Early Years Teachers say:

“We’re such a diverse team and this is reflected with our families and children too. Each person brings something different to the team.”

What we offer you as an Early Years Practitioner:

  • Starting salary of £31,394 for 40 hours per week, full time
  • Annual performance-based pay increases
  • 7% pension contribution (you only contribute 1%)
  • 70% childcare discount for your child or grandchild at a LEYF nursery
  • Top training and development through our London Institute of Early Years, including our Early Years Foundation and Top-Up Degrees, SENDCo qual, coaching, Room Manager leadership training and more
  • 35 days annual leave (including 8 bank holidays and your birthday off)
  • Sector-leading parental leave, wellbeing support, shopping discounts, company events, team celebration, and more!
  • Work for a nursery group with heart – we’re a social enterprise with a unique social pedagogy

We’re looking for you to:

  • Be Level 3+ Early Years qualified (this must be a full and relevant qualification)
  • Align with our values through your work: Inspiring, Brave, Nurturing, Fun.
  • Have full right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
  • We are also open to applicants who hold a full and relevant Level 2 Early Years qualification

About the role

We know you work in Early Years because you love helping children develop and learn. You are warm and keen to give children the best education to succeed in life.

Every nursery shares LEYF's unique teaching model. But you will have the freedom to be creative to suit how the children learn best. Whether you hop on a train to the Science Museum, take a bus to make friends at a nearby LEYF nursery, or bake with your nursery chef, it's always about the children in our nurseries.

About LEYF

We're London Early Years Foundation; we run 43 nurseries across London. With our unique charitable social enterprise model, we're leading change in Early Years, ensuring equal education and care for all children to give them the best start in life. Any profits we make get reinvested back into the business, giving more to you and to the children.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! Our recruitment process is quick, so you’ll hear from us within 1-2 days after applying. Reach us at jointheteam@leyf.org.uk or 0203 834 8679 if you have any questions.
