Full job description

Job role: Relief/ Bank Life Coach

Working in our trauma responsive supported living homes for young people ages 16-19

Fabric Family are looking to expand our relief life coach team. These hours are not set hours and are on a zero hour contract. Our homes need shift cover when our full time life coaches are on leave, absent or on training days. We train our relief life coaches to the same level as our full time life coaches as we understand the benefits to the young people we support in having team members around who are confident, competent and familar with the workplace operations. We do not wish to use unfamiliar agency team members to cover our shifts as this does not provide consistency for our young people within the homes.

Pay: £15.07

Shifts: All shifts to cover would be generally 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with some 11-5/12-6 made available to suit the needs of the home

How to pick up shifts: After being fully trained, we would add you onto our Find My Shift app system whereby any shift cover that is short notice or planned in advance will be put onto here. You will be able to claim the shift from this app.

Requirments for the role:

  • Experience working with young people for a minimum of 1 year in a similar setting.
  • Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people
  • Able to get to work on time to either home's locations and fulfil the full shift

Our comitment to you:

Whilst at FABRIC FAMILY, you will be undertake a variety of training courses. Some will be face-to-face and some will be online. This will enhance your experience in the sector and build your skills. Training includes safeguarding, criminal exploitation, working with the Trauma recovery model and substance misuse. You will be invited to attend team meetings and feel included as part of any team days.

Duties will include

  • Supporting and mentoring up to 7 young people within our supported living home according to their needs. Preparing them for independent living.
  • Excellent record keeping and documentation around our young people. This may include incident report writing.
  • Lone working during weekends or night shifts
  • Keeping the home looking presentable and clean
  • Understanding the homes rules and policies
