Full job description
Fire door factory supervisor - Nights
LFS are looking to start a new night shift (6pm - 6am) x 4 days per week and are looking to add a Supervisor to their team. Reporting to a production manager you will be supervising a team of approx 8 operatives made up of joiners and cnc operatives. There will also be an element of hands on work to be undertaken
This would suit someone who has run a joinery workshop or a Site Manager who comes from a Workshop background or has some workshop experience.
The role description
- An experienced Joiner or Foreman with a workshop background to be responsible for the overall management and control of workshop manufacturing
- Manage the maintenance and effective use of all machinery and equipment to ensure most efficient and highest quality work methods are achieved.
- Strict implementation of Health & Safety systems
- Implementation of good 'house-keeping' in all areas of manufacturing
- Must be able to motivate, coach and develop team members for high performance
- Computerised working including cutting lists / delivery notes etc.
Responsibilities
- Manage all factory manufacturing activities on a nightly basis.
- Liaise with production manager / managing director to ascertain weekly requirements / changes.
- Hold weekly production meeting with production manager/managing director
- Carry out Tool Box Talks and health and safety meetings
- Assign jobs to workshop labour and ensure a clear understanding of requirements is passed on.
- Ensure works are completed within set timescales and delivery dates are met
- Quality management ISO 9001:2008, ensuring manufactured items are produced within the specification and to an expected quality level
- Continuously identify and forward ideas that will improve efficiencies.
- Responsible for on-going training and development of joinery/manufacturing
- Ensure time sheets are accurately completed, collected weekly and signed off.
- Undertake interviews for production staff candidates.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
