Job Title: PSV Coach Driver

Employer: Bryant Travel Limited

Location: Havant Depot

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £31,200 (paid weekly)

Benefits: Pension scheme, Statutory Sick Pay, Guaranteed Income via Salary, Fuel card for business use.

About Us:
Bryant Travel Limited is a leading travel company based on the south coast, offering comprehensive transportation services throughout the United Kingdom. We are committed to providing safe and reliable travel solutions for our customers.

We take a humanistic approach to management, working your schedule around your life as best we can. As a family run company growing rapidly, we make a point of focusing our efforts on helping you enjoy a satisfying working environment with a friendly, welcoming team always eager to help each other out.

Position Summary:
We are seeking professional PSV Drivers to join our team with a focus on tour driving through the tour season, with occasional private hire work between tours, or in the off-season. The ideal candidate will have a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service. As a PSV Driver, you will be responsible for transporting passengers to various destinations across the UK while adhering to safety regulations and providing excellent customer care. You may be driving one of our executive 16 seater minibuses right up to our 53 seater tour coaches.

This role does include tour work so experience is a huge plus. This also includes a commitment to perform work across holiday periods as required.

About You:
Direct experience is great, but we hold a positive attitude, a willingness to learn more, and a friendly personality in much higher regard.

Alongside the legal requirements outlined above, we are looking for people who are personable, flexible at times, able to interact with different kinds of passengers, from corporate hires to school trips, and people who love to travel the country.

You'll be pro-active in looking after your assigned vehicle, dealing with problems which may arise (i.e. traffic issues), and communicating with passengers, your team, and management alike!

English needn't be your first language, but you will need to be confident in communicating clearly in English as a huge part of the job is liaising with passengers through a trip, whether it's a simple airport run or a more comprehensive excursion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting with boarding, luggage handling, and inquiries.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Adhere to designated routes and schedules, while maintaining punctuality.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle interior and exterior at all times, leaving every vehicle you use ready for its next job.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and management regarding schedule changes, vehicle maintenance, and passenger issues.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including driver logs and incident reports.
  • Attend training sessions as required to maintain Driver Qualification Card and CPC certification.
  • Understand requirements of tours, including conducting safety briefings, building a rapport with customers, and representing the Bryant Travel brand positively and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is essential.
  • Valid Category D driving license.
  • Previous experience as a coach/PSV driver.
  • Previous experience driving on tours, or relevant understanding of tour driving and a willingness and ablity to learn quickly.
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy luggage when required.
  • Knowledge of UK roadways and routes is advantageous but good understanding of safe Sat Nav use is great.

Working Conditions:

  • This role involves extensive travel throughout the United Kingdom, with the main base located in Havant and occasional visits to Marchwood.
  • Working hours may vary and require flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business, following the typical 5 day/6 day cyclical working pattern.
  • Tour driving typically involves multiple nights away around the country, it isn't a lifestyle for everyone so do bear that in mind!
  • Salary pay means your income is guaranteed regardless. It's important to us you have stability and we're keen to be the operator that can provide that for you.

How to Apply:
If you are interested in joining our team in this role, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and qualifications to Jack Vincent at management@bryanttravel.co.uk.

Whilst we endeavour to respond to every applicant, often we receive a large number or applications so please do allow us some time to respond.
