An exciting opportunity

Join Oaks Veterinary Centre and be part of an incredible team that looks after a varied caseload. We have vets with certificates in surgery, and medicine and someone completing a cert AVP with feline medicine. We also have RVNs with certificates in nutrition, medicine, and surgery and also a nurse completing a behaviour certificate. We are very big on CPD, certificates and helping everyone to progress within their area of interest, increasing the services we can offer. We have two fantastic, experienced vets who are both clinical coaches and love teaching! One also has an interest in ultrasound and looking to progress with cardiology cases. In general, we are a young team who all want to progress further from reception to the vets. We also have a visiting surgeon who does the more complex ortho cases for the moment.
We have a strong focus on wellbeing and try to make every day as fun, positive, and entertaining as possible with wellbeing competitions, nights out and lunches. We aren’t joking when we say our biggest asset is our team, everyone is open, supportive and gets on exceptionally well.

Shifts that work for you

Working 40 hours per week with a negotiable shift pattern and part-time work available. 1:5 weekend rota and no OOH or on-call.

Our 3 sites are located in with practices in Saltcoats, Largs and Dundonald on the Southwest Coast of Scotland offering both beach and rural areas nearby. We are also only 45 minutes from the city of Glasgow.Our team consists of 10 vets, a supportive and hands-on nursing team of 10 and a reception team of 10 - we even have our in-house groomers.

The perfect fit

Must be RCVS registered and qualified, you should be confident with sole charge work and have good communication skills. Ideally with some Vet GDP experience and clinical coaching although not essential. Further certification is supported and funding is available.
