Are you passionate about helping people make positive changes to improve their health and wellbeing?

Do you believe that lasting health improvement starts with understanding what matters most to people, building on their strengths, and connecting them with opportunities in their local community?

If so, The Health, Wellbeing and Experience Team at Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT) would like to hear from you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Lifestyle Coach who will help individuals to improve their health, wellbeing, confidence and quality of life through personalised coaching, behaviour change support and increased participation in community opportunities.

In the role you will be hosted by MPFT but will work with stakeholders across the Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent Integrated Care System (ICS). What makes this role unique is that your focus will be on promoting evidence-based initiatives leading to healthier workforces.

In the role you will be required to travel between work locations across the Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent footprint.

You will be required to work on your own initiative, expected to prioritise work and meet deadlines in order to fulfil the requirements of the post. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to deal with potentially highly sensitive and challenging situations.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:
  • Provide one-to-one lifestyle coaching sessions with employees to identify needs, set SMART goals and support employees to implement and achieve personalised health and wellbeing objectives.
  • Support employees to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage their health and wellbeing through evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing.
  • Increase the ability of employees to access and utilise community and digital support offers covering a range of wellbeing factors including diet, physical activity and weight management, safe activities and personal coaching and motivation
  • Coach and motivate employees through multiple sessions to identify their needs, supporting people to establish and attain goals set by the person based on what is important to them, building on small successes leading to big changes.
  • Attend relevant networking opportunities and training to stay up to date with current health and wellbeing updates.
  • Keep up to date with new and emerging groups and community support initiatives relevant to the locality.
Regular supervision will be available.

Come and work with us at our award-winning NHS Trust, leading the way for trying new and better ways of working to help improve life for our local communities.

We have around 9,000 staff who provide physical and mental healthcare, support for people with learning disabilities, and adult social care across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin. We also run regional and national services, including help for new parents (perinatal care), eating disorders, forensic services, sexual health, and support for people in prison with mental health, drug, or alcohol problems.

We offer great career development for both clinical and non-clinical roles, with ongoing training and support to help you learn and grow.

We are ‘United in our Uniqueness’ and committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome and can be themselves, no matter their background or identity. We want our staff to feel supported and valued, and we aim to build a team that reflects the communities we serve. Together, we can make sure every voice is heard, and every difference is respected.

Please note, we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications
