This role is only suitable for candidates who already hold an Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent e.g. teaching) and have proven experience assessing apprenticeships.

Applications without this experience will not be considered.

Make a difference beyond the frontline

You’re already a qualified Assessor / Learning Coach (or teacher) in Health & Social Care. You’ve supported apprentices, managed caseloads, and understand what it takes to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Now you’re looking for a role where you can do that with the backing of a supportive, high-performing team while continuing to grow your own career.

At TLC, you’ll use your experience to develop the next generation of care professionals, supporting them to build confidence, competence and careers that truly make a difference.

The Role

As a Health & Social Care Assessor / Learning Coach at TLC, you’ll manage a caseload of apprentices from Level 2 through to Level 5, guiding them through every stage of their apprenticeship journey.

This isn’t just about assessment. It’s about coaching, mentoring and developing professionals working on the frontline of care, helping them achieve, progress and succeed. Your role will include:

  • Delivering monthly coaching and assessment sessions face-to-face in the workplace
  • Supporting learners to build evidence, knowledge and professional confidence
  • Driving timely achievement and high-quality outcomes
  • Building strong relationships with employers and workplace mentors
  • Managing your own diary, travel and learner caseload
  • Working towards clear performance and quality targets
  • Maintaining compliance with apprenticeship standards and requirements

You’ll spend three to four days each week in the field, supporting learners within a two-hour radius of home, with one to two days working remotely for planning, reviews and administration.

Non-Negotiable Requirements (Please only apply if you meet all of the below)

  • Assessor qualification: TAQA, A1, or D32/D33 (or equivalent e.g. teaching)
  • Proven experience assessing apprenticeships (not just occupational experience)
  • Experience supporting learners from Level 2 to Level 5 (preferred)
  • Occupational competency within Health & Social Care
  • Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care / equivalent or previous experience as a Registered Manager is preferred
  • Experience delivering face-to-face assessments in the workplace
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check

Our strongest Assessors are experienced, organised and genuinely care about learner success. You’ll likely be:

  • Quality-driven and committed to high standards of delivery
  • Confident managing your own caseload and schedule
  • Skilled at building relationships with both learners and employers
  • Comfortable working to targets, deadlines and KPIs
  • Supportive, professional and engaging in your coaching approach
  • A strong communicator with solid IT and administrative skills

Why Join TLC?
