Full job description

Are you a compassionate and confident leader with a background in care or residential support? We’re looking for a College Residential Deputy Manager to help shape and deliver outstanding residential services for young people with vision impairment and complex needs.

In this key role, you’ll work alongside our College Residential Manager to ensure every student gets the personalised, high-quality support they deserve.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide tailored, person-centred support to young people in our residential college setting
  • Lead, coach and inspire your team to deliver excellent care and support
  • Promote a positive, inclusive culture where staff and students feel valued
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across our college residential houses
  • Work closely with families, local authorities and commissioners
  • Track student goals linked to EHCPs and person-centred reviews
  • Prepare for and support CQC inspections to ensure compliance and excellence
  • Monitor and audit services to maintain high standards
  • Deputise for the College Residential Manager when needed

About You:

You're a motivated, empathetic leader who brings:

  • Experience in care, education, or residential support settings
  • A strong understanding of person-centred care and CQC standards
  • Great people skills – with the ability to build relationships and communicate clearly
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and strong organisational skills
  • Confidence managing teams, mentoring staff and setting high standards
  • A genuine passion for helping young people live full, independent lives

Working Pattern:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Flexible working required, including some evenings and weekends
