Skills Development Coach - Machining

Training 2000 is a large, independent training provider, based in Blackburn, Lancashire and is owned by the University of Central Lancashire. We have a heritage of over 50 years in Lancashire, delivering learning and development solutions and pride ourselves on delivery excellence in learning and creating outstanding talent.
We are seeking to appoint a Skills Development Coach - Machining to join our work-based Engineering learning team.
The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for an allocated caseload of Engineering Apprentices throughout their programme from onboarding through to End Point Assessment, providing IAG, support, development, training and assessment in the workplace and training environment.
Some of the main duties include:
- To manage a caseload of Apprentices, by preparing and supporting through to successful completion of their End Point Assessment.
- To provide comprehensive independent advice, guidance and support to employers and learners with regards to their training needs and requirements, and to link these where appropriate to the Training 2000 training portfolio of commercial and apprenticeship delivery.
- To participate in the learner onboarding process in accordance with ESFA funding rules, to include completing the ‘three-way conversation’ and skills scan ensuring a sound understanding from both employer and Apprentice of their required commitment.
Knowledge & Qualifications
Essential requirements:
- Level 2 qualification in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering (relevant to discipline)
- L3 Assessor Award qualification (or willing to work towards)
- IOSH qualification
- Knowledge of theory and practical skills in engineering equipment, machinery and materials
