Full job description

Job Overview:

Due to an increase in orders, we are seeking two skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician,

  • To perform materials testing on incoming and manufactured product in accordance with test procedures / specifications to meet demand.
  • Maintain the internal calibration system and ensure that all operational items are re-calibrated prior to their expiration.

Responsibilities:

  • To perform routine testing of materials, recording all findings in the business systems.
  • Carry out testing following established test procedures/specifications as required
  • Generate and maintain clear and accurate records of test results
  • Report deviations from specified values and all issues affecting product quality.
  • To compile quality documentation ie. Test Certificates to internal and external requirements
  • Ensure all measuring equipment is maintained in a calibrated status and is managed in the business system. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders where required
  • Ensure any non-conformities found during calibration are rectified and any affected product contained
  • Ensure that the housekeeping in all laboratory areas is maintained to the highest standard
  • Log machine running conditions / adjust machine settings when required (Mica Section only)

Requirements:

  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Intermediate / Advanced Computer skills ie Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Effectively manage priorities and workload to deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
  • Strong mathematical skills for data analysis and calculations
  • Previous experience of laboratory work or routine quality inspection desirable
  • Previous experience of working with SAP

Qualifications:

  • Educated to Degree Level in a Science Discipline desirable or relevant practical experience

Shift Pattern:

4 x 12 hour shifts, (could work permanent days or permanent nights if desired).

Holiday entitlement 25 days (Pro rata) plus 8 Bank Holidays (Pro rata).

Pay: £34,070.00-£39,187.00 per year
