Full job description

Applications are sought for a Research Fellow to work with Dr Margaret McCartney and Professor Frank Sullivan, and Prof. Fergus Daly in the School of Medicine as well as Dr. Dhairini Balasubramaniam in the School of Computer Science and Prof Linda Bauld (University of Edinburgh) conducting research funded by Public Health Scotland: Social Media Made Better for Health Emergencies.

The primary duties will be to perform systematic reviews on health communications and to assist in the development of creating a method to create reliable, evidence based information packages in response to health stories or trending topics on social media, and helping with preliminary testing.

Successful applicants will have a passion for evidence based healthcare, critical appraisal, and public communication about healthcare issues. They will also have research skills, particularly experience in systematic reviews. Applicants for will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD (or equivalent) with relevance to this work, including public health, psychology, general practice, or health systems research.
