Full job description
Live-In Carer: SureCare Dumfries & Galloway
Before You Apply – Right to Work in the UK.
Please read this carefully before applying.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position because we do not currently hold a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence.
Please only apply if you already have an unrestricted legal right to live and work in the UK.
We genuinely regret this limitation, but applying if you require sponsorship will unfortunately result in your application being unsuccessful and wastes both your time and ours.
About the Role
SureCare Dumfries & Galloway is an independent premium home care provider delivering high-quality live-in care across Dumfries & Galloway.
We are looking for exceptional Live-In Carers who combine outstanding practical skills with warmth, emotional intelligence and genuine compassion. Our clients are individuals with unique personalities, backgrounds and preferences, and we believe the very best care adapts to the person rather than expecting the person to adapt to the care.
This is not simply a job—it is an opportunity to become part of a carefully selected, professional team committed to delivering care of the highest standard.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking carers who can demonstrate:
- Excellent practical skills and experience across all aspects of personal care.
- Sound judgement, maturity and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Genuine empathy, kindness and discretion.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with a wide range of clients.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work independently.
- A commitment to preserving dignity, independence and quality of life.
- Careful attention to care plans and accurate record keeping.
Your Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Assisting clients with personal care, bathing, dressing and grooming.
- Supporting clients to remain as independent as possible within their own homes.
- Administering or assisting with medication where appropriate.
- Preparing meals and supporting good nutrition.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable home environment.
- Driving clients to appointments, shopping or social activities where required.
- Communicating effectively with families and healthcare professionals.
- Recording care accurately using our digital care systems.
- Reporting any changes in a client’s health or wellbeing promptly.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Above all, a genuinely good human being—kind, dependable and trustworthy.
- Calm under pressure and emotionally resilient.
- Friendly, engaging and able to put people at ease.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- A confident driver with access to a vehicle (essential in rural Dumfries & Galloway).
- Looking for a long-term career in care rather than a temporary role.
Why Join SureCare?
We aren’t an agency and we’re not interested in constant staff turnover.
We’re developing a reputation for the quality of our small, highly skilled team whose members know each other well, support one another and take real pride in their work.
We Put Carers First
Our management team believes outstanding client care begins with looking after the people who provide it. We work hard to create a supportive culture where carers are respected, listened to and properly supported.
Excellent Pay
We offer competitive rates of pay together with structured training, ongoing development and genuine opportunities for progression.
Stability
We aim to provide consistent work, sensible rotas and close communication. We don’t make unreasonable demands and we work with our carers to resolve problems rather than simply expecting them to cope.
Innovative Care
We’re continually developing new ways to improve care, including community care hubs, greater continuity for clients, and creative projects that help people continue living rich, fulfilling lives rather than simply remaining safe.
Essential Requirements
- Previous professional care experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- The unrestricted legal right to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.
If you are an experienced, compassionate professional who believes that care should enhance people’s lives rather than simply meet their needs, we’d love to hear from you.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £980.00-£1,200.00 per week
Application question(s):
- Do you have the unrestricted legal right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship now or at any time in the future?

Work authorisation:
- United Kingdom (required)
Work Location: In person
