Custom House Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and patient-focused Locum GP to join our friendly and supportive clinical team on a 6-month locum agreement, providing maternity cover for a member of our GP team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for a temporary position within a supportive and well-established General Practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment and management of patients and will work alongside our wider multidisciplinary team.

Contract: 6-month locum agreement
Sessions: 8 sessions per week

Location: Custom House Surgery

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face, telephone and online GP consultations.
• Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Provide safe, effective and patient-centred clinical care.
• Prescribe appropriately in accordance with current clinical guidance and local prescribing requirements.
• Make appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services and other healthcare providers where clinically indicated.
• Provide appropriate clinical advice, treatment and safety-netting to patients.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.
• Manage clinical presentations safely within the scope of General Practice.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice clinical team when required.

Essential RequirementsQualifications

• MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification.
• Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practise.
• MRCGP qualification.
• Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
• Appropriate indemnity cover for General Practice.

Experience and Skills

• Previous experience working as a GP within UK General Practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a varied GP workload safely and efficiently.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience using EMIS Web is desirable.
