Locum Doctor – NHS Trust

General Requirements (All Grades)

  • Valid Right to Work in the UK (passport, BRP, visa, or share code)
  • Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
  • Up‑to‑date Mandatory Training (including safeguarding, infection control, manual handling)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS)mandatory for most acute specialties
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Occupational Health Clearance
  • Two Recent Clinical References

Locum SHO (FY2 / CT1–CT2) – NHS Trust

The Locum SHO provides frontline clinical care, supports senior doctors, and ensures safe day‑to‑day management of patients within the assigned department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initial clerking and assessment of new admissions
  • Daily ward rounds with senior clinicians
  • Ordering and interpreting basic investigations
  • Preparing discharge summaries and documentation
  • Escalating deteriorating patients to senior staff
  • Supporting A&E, wards, or on‑call rota as required
