Locum Doctor – NHS Trust
General Requirements (All Grades)
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (passport, BRP, visa, or share code)
- Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
- Up‑to‑date Mandatory Training (including safeguarding, infection control, manual handling)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) — mandatory for most acute specialties
- Enhanced DBS
- Occupational Health Clearance
- Two Recent Clinical References
Locum SHO (FY2 / CT1–CT2) – NHS Trust
The Locum SHO provides frontline clinical care, supports senior doctors, and ensures safe day‑to‑day management of patients within the assigned department.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial clerking and assessment of new admissions
- Daily ward rounds with senior clinicians
- Ordering and interpreting basic investigations
- Preparing discharge summaries and documentation
- Escalating deteriorating patients to senior staff
- Supporting A&E, wards, or on‑call rota as required
- Ensuring safe handover of patient care
Required Skills
- Competent in basic clinical procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Ability to work under supervision and escalate appropriately
Locum SPR / Registrar (ST3+) – NHS Trust
Role Summary
The Locum Registrar provides senior decision‑making, supervises junior doctors, and manages complex patients across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.
