Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and versatile General Builder to join our team, specialising in residential construction projects. This role involves working on a variety of domestic builds including new homes, house extensions, loft conversions, renovations, and structural alterations.

This is a hands-on role requiring a broad range of building skills and a high standard of workmanship. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and comfortable working on-site independently or as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of construction for residential properties including new builds, extensions, loft conversions, and structural alterations
  • Accurately interpret architectural and structural plans to ensure work is carried out to exact specifications and design intent
  • Maintain excellent levels of finish and detail, ensuring all work complies with building regulations, project specifications, and client expectations
  • Manage materials and maintaining progress against deadlines
  • Keep the site tidy, organised, and compliant with all health and safety regulations, including safe use and storage of tools and materials
  • Work alongside other trades, subcontractors, and site supervisors, contributing to a positive and productive work environment
  • Identify and report structural issues, defects, or any deviations from plan early, helping to resolve problems quickly and effectively

Requirements

  • Proven experience in general building, particularly in residential construction
  • Wide skillset across multiple trades
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship
  • Good understanding of building regulations and site safety
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport (preferred)
